A recent graduate of Wright State University and newly engaged, Chase Baumgardner was on the path to a new chapter in his life, when he suddenly and unexpectedly passed away due to a blood clot in his lungs on July 30, 2011.
To those that knew Chase, he will best be remembered for his smile and his kind heart. “His smile could light up a room and change your mood from bad to good instantly.” And you could always count on him wearing it! He always put others happiness above his own and went out of his way to help anyone in need, even those he didn’t know.
Chase’s passion was spending time with his family, fiancée and friends. He loved any occasion that brought them all together, especially the holidays. He got excited about the little things in life that many of us take for granted.
Chase also valued traditions and thought it was important to keep them going year after year. In order to honor Chase’s memory and values, the Baumgardners have created the Chase Baumgardner Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Springfield Foundation. This Fund will assist graduating seniors of Northwestern High School who wish to attend Wright State University, just as Chase did.
