The Public Awareness Committee of the Child and Family Collaborative

The people of the Together We Grow initiative understand the value of the phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child."  They have developed a public awareness campaign to bring attention to the importance of the first three years of a child's life.  The campaign includes outside advertising on billboards, placemats at restaurants, and brochures for parents and caregivers.  These pieces all emphasize the message that 90% of a child's brain develops before age 3.  This makes a baby's first three years a time of great risk, but also a time of great opportunity.

When adults spend time with, read with, and play with babies, they help those babies grow bright and strong; and that makes a better community for us all.  This public awareness campaign was developed by the Clark County Family and Children First Council's committee for Early Childhood Education, and supported with funding from multiple sources, including the Springfield Foundation.
