Local Art Museum Partners with Foundation
The Springfield Museum of Art has partnered with the Springfield Foundation for the administration and oversight of an endowment to support its operations and collections. After thoughtful consideration, the Museum’s Leadership has entrusted the Springfield Foundation with the on-going administration of this new endowment. The initial gift to start this new endowment was made possible through a gift from the estate of Richard L. Kuss.
“Partnering with the Springfield Foundation for the administration of our organization’s endowment provides us with the level of professional expertise critical to steward these and similar gifts and seeing that they grow over time,” said Ann Fortescue, Executive Director of the Springfield Museum of Art. “Additionally, the Foundation provides the Museum with: 1) investment diversification, 2) opportunities for the community-at-large to contribute to the endowment, and 3) sound stewardship and permanence.”
“We are very pleased that the Springfield Museum of Art has partnered with us to administer this endowment,” said Springfield Foundation Executive Director, Ted Vander Roest. “The Museum is a very important organization that enhances the cultural vitality of our community and it’s an honor and a privilege to partner with them,” added Vander Roest
The Springfield Foundation is a Community Foundation founded in 1948 to improve the quality of life in Springfield and Clark County. The Foundation currently administers over 330 funds for the community and provides in excess of $2.4 Million annually in the form of grants and scholarships for the primary benefit of Clark County.
Organized in 1946, the Springfield Museum of Art collects, exhibits, and preserves works of art for the benefit of all individuals, while encouraging the education and participation in, and the enjoyment and appreciation of the arts.
