Scholarships
The Springfield Foundation annually administers more than 55 different scholarships established by individuals, families, businesses and organizations to assist Clark County residents in pursuing education beyond high school. Through the generosity of donors, nearly $350,000 was awarded in 2011 to support the education of our community’s students!
Eligibility requirements are largely determined by the donors who establish the various scholarships. Some scholarships are primarily need-based while others reward academic accomplishments. Some benefit individuals who have graduated from a particular high school, or to students who plan to attend a specific college or selection of a certain field of study.
Applications for the 2013-2014 academic year will be available November 19, 2012. Completed applications are due on February 28, 2013.

Application Process [Read more]All applications must be submitted electronically (on Applications page). Filling out the application will make you eligible for every Fund for which you qualify. Please be sure your application package is complete. Incomplete application packages will not be considered.
Scholarship Amounts [Read more]The amount of a scholarship award depends on the particular scholarship. Most renewable scholarships are awarded on the following scale: First Year - $1,250; Second Year - $1,500; Third Year - $1,750; and Fourth Year - $2,000. However, scholarships can range from $500 - $4,000 for a single academic year. Scholarships must be applied toward tuition, books and other required fees; any other uses must be approved by the Foundation.
Monitoring Scholarships During the Academic Year [Read more]You will be required to return a Scholarship Acceptance Form, giving the Foundation authorization to monitor your progress during the academic year. The Foundation will monitor the enrollment status of the recipient, the cumulative GPA, and the major field of study (where applicable). Students may be asked to provide transcripts or class schedules to assist with this monitoring.
Scholarship Termination [Read more]If a student does not meet the stated requirements for their scholarship(s), the Foundation will terminate the scholarship and request any unused funds to be refunded from the student’s account. In most cases, students must maintain a full time class schedule (12 or more credit hours) and a 2.50% cumulative GPA. Students whose scholarships have been terminated are eligible to re-apply in future years.
Renewable Scholarships [Read more]Students who receive renewable scholarships do not need to re-apply each year, but must submit year-end transcripts. Scholarships identified as renewable may be renewed provided the student continues to meet the scholarship's unique requirements. Most scholarships that are not renewable allow the recipient to re-apply in subsequent years. Scholarships for graduate level education are generally not awarded unless otherwise noted.
Conflict of Interest Policy [Read more]Foundation trustees, staff, and their immediate family members are not eligible for Springfield Foundation Scholarships. Immediate family members include a trustee or staff’s spouse and children (step, adopted, foster); brother, sister, their spouses and children; and a trustee and staff member’s grandchildren.
