Non-traditional students are defined by the Springfield Foundation as post-secondary students who are 25 years old and older and are working toward their first degree. They may have full-time jobs or family situations that make attending college full-time difficult; and therefore, may only attend school part-time. If you meet the definition of a non-traditional student, please use this application rather than the the Common Application.

The purpose of the scholarship is to help children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces or nephews of alumni who attended City-Community Hospital or Springfield Regional School of Nursing from 1907 to 2012 (when the school was closed) attain certifications or higher academic degrees in the field of nursing. (Licensure and alumni status to be verified by the alumni organization)

Through a generous gift left to the Springfield Foundation by local educator Sally A. Hare, a scholarship was established to assist employees of the Springfield Police Division and their families with their education beyond high school. The donor was grateful for the excellent service of the Springfield Police Officers and this scholarship fund highlights her commitment to the Police Division and the pursuit of education.

Created in memory of John Dale who served for 27 years with the Urbana Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic. Preference given to dependents or grandchildren of active or retired Urbana Firefighters. If you are a Champaign county resident not related to an Urbana Firefighter who is planning to study Fire, EMS or Nursing, please complete either the common application (under the age of 25) or the non-traditional application (age 25 or older) to be considered.

To provide scholarships for members and family members (parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent or grandchild) of a local AME church. The applicant and/or guardian work or reside in Greene, Champaign, Logan, Clark or Madison Counties. Must be enrolled full time at a 2-year or 4-year accredited college, university or technical school.

Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer created this scholarship in memory of their daughter, Jennifer Lou Spencer, who died of leukemia in 1963 at the age of nine. Applicants must have completed 2 years at a 2-year college, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and enroll full-time (12 hours or more) at an accredited Ohio college or university.

Through a generous gift left to the Springfield News-Sun by former employee Ralph Doyle, the Springfield News-Sun has created a scholarship for Cox Media Group Ohio employees and members of their families.

The Nelson and Belva Stallsmith Scholarship is available to high school seniors and graduates planning to pursue any course of study at any accredited institution of higher education. Applicants must be children or step-children of members of Harmony Lodge #8 in Champaign County, Ohio.

This scholarship was established in memory of Thelma Streber, a 1947 graduate of the Springfield City School of Nursing. Thelma retired in 1989 after 40 years of service as a nurse. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a nursing degree. Applicants must be Clark Cy., OH resident or a graduate of a Clark Cy., OH high school, Must be at least a 2nd year nursing student enrolled full-time in a Nursing program of any two- or four-year accredited Ohio college or university. Applicants demonstrate exceptional care-giving qualities, and scholastic ability and promise.

Local 402 or the surviving spouse of the member and do not wish to apply for any other Springfield Foundation scholarships.This scholarship was established by the U.A.W. Local 402 in honor of John Minchin, former President, for his dedication to the membership.

This scholarship assists graduates of Catholic Central High School, Emmanuel Christian Academy and Kenton Ridge High School (all in Clark County, Ohio) who demonstrate a strong Christian faith, high ambition and tenacity, academic potential and financial need to pursue a post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors and are not renewable.
