COMMUNITY CATALYST BLOG

This Season is a Season of Gratitude - We Share Why!

Susan Carey, Executive Director

I am grateful for all the blessings in my life and the ability to weather the storm when things may be difficult. I am grateful for my family and friends, and for the opportunity to make a difference in my community.

I am grateful for our donors who recognize the needs in the community and provide the support necessary to make a difference. I am grateful for our nonprofit partners who work tirelessly trying to improve the quality of life for the residents of our community. I am grateful for our board of trustees who volunteer their time to guide the Foundation in its mission, and I am grateful for my amazing team who live our mission to raise, strengthen and distribute permanent charitable funds to benefit Clark County.

Sarah McPherson, Director of Marketing and Development

I can't wait to welcome a new son to my family and am grateful for all the blessings that come with motherhood!

I am so grateful to work for such an impactful organization with people who are passionate and dedicated to helping our community- our donors, our nonprofits, and my coworkers!

Raphael Allen, Director of Community Outreach

Personally, I am grateful for the support I have in my life from my friends, family, and coworkers. Life becomes easier to deal with when you have great people in your corner who have your back… Having a 180lb lap dog helps with that also :)

Professionally, I am so grateful for my amazing coworkers aka my work family! To be able to come work and truly enjoy the interactions we all have is so great!  I am also grateful to be able to work for an organization whose mission and morals align with my passion for helping for individuals and building up our community.

Joyce Dawson, Accountant

I am thankful for my coworkers and all their support this past year.  I am thankful for the challenges my job has given me to keep me on my toes.

I am thankful for my family, friends and coworkers and all their support.  As many of you know, it has been a rocky year for my family.  Lots of tears been shed.   I am thankful I am learning to live each day to the fullest as we don’t know about tomorrows.

Teresa Brumfield, Scholarship Manager

I am very blessed to have a loving and supportive family.

I am grateful for a job and work environment that I enjoy and a team that works together.

Lori Boegershausen, Grants Manager

I am grateful that my husband is now cancer free!

I am grateful for the intentionality many organizations in Clark County have towards expanding their programming and materials to include diverse populations and languages.

Wendy Voorhees, Administrative Assistant

I am grateful for the Foundation and the last 7 years which have flown by. Seems like yesterday when Ted hired me.  We have a great team that works very well together to keep the vision of the Foundation running.

I am beyond blessed for my family & friends, to have a roof over my head, food on my table and have no real needs/wants. Yes, we all have the needs/wants, but being blessed with the other things is more than some are afforded.
